Do I feel anything during a Quantum Biofeedback session?

Some feel mild sensations or tingling, however, most people don't feel anything during the sessions. Usually after a session, people feel renewed energy, balanced, and refreshed. The effect of the Quantum Biofeedback session is subtle and noticeable overtime.

What is Quantum Biofeedback and how does it work?
Quantum Biofeedback is used for pain management and stress reduction. With the Quantum Biofeedback technology your body is scanned and balanced energetically. The connections are through 4 straps that go around the wrists and ankles and 1 head harness that goes around the forehead. There are 8 electrical probes on the head harness and each strap can conduct electricity and acts as a probe. So there are a total of 16 points of electro-dermal (skin) connections. There is a 2 way electrical communication between the device and the body. First the body is scanned for any energetic blockages, which effect our health and wellness, by transmission of very mild electrical impulses to the body and the responses are recorded. Using these recorded data, and then the body is electrically rectified and balanced through indicated programs.
What is the best method for healing and recovery after running a marathon?
The best way to recover from a marathon depends on several factors - preexisting conditions the athlete has, any injuries occurring in the marathon, and the course itself (hilly vs flat, hot day vs cool). That said, some some generalizations can be made. Immediately after the race, it is important to rehydrate and replenish carbohydrates and electrolytes. Gentle walking and stretching in the first day is recommended. In the days after the race, rest until no ongoing muscle soreness exists. During this time, I recommend a high intake of antioxidants. Eat higher protein foods than in the prerace period. When all soreness is gone (usually 2-4 weeks), start training again. Start with easy running, then work into longer runs. Pick a goal and work toward it.
Is it true that if you go to the chiropractor one time, you will have to continue to go for the rest of your life to maintain your health?
Garrett,

Great question! The reason you'd want to get adjusted regularly is first and foremost that you'll live longer and healthier. Can I prove that? No. Can I prove to you that God is real? No. You either believe or you don't. The same is true for chiropractic. People who get adjusted regularly, at least once a week or twice a month, by and large live longer, healthier lives. If you get adjusted regularly, that inborn intelligence inside of you, will be better able to express itself through your nervous system.

So to answer your question. You should come in for chiropractic adjustments till one of us dies. I say chiropractic is from the cradle to the grave.
What is the best method for healing and recovery after running a marathon?
Fist of all, I would like to applaud you for undertaking and completing such activity. Running a Marathon requires both physical and mental discipline and fitness.

This response is under the assumption that you haven't sustained any major injuries as a result of running a marathon.

TO REST is my first and most important recommendation for recovery after running a Marathon. Adequate rest would give your body a chance to heal and recover. The cells in our body are constantly rejuvenating. Give yourself time before undertaking another intense activity.

Continue taking extra minerals and vitamin C, and continue drinking plenty of water.

For body aches and muscle pain take an Epsom Salt bath, apply Arnica Cream (Homeopathic), and have a professional deep tissue massage.

Our Adrenal glands are responsible for our sleep cycle, energy level, and our stress response. Have your Adrenal glands checked to see if you may need any Adrenal support. Adrenal glands function can be easily evaluated with saliva testing.

I wish you a rapid and easy recovery.
Is it true that if you go to the chiropractor one time, you will have to continue to go for the rest of your life to maintain your health?
In my office we tend to have an extremely high retention rate with our patients. This is a commonplace with many professions, eg. if a patient or client finds a medical doctor they like, an attorney, dentist, accountant, etc. they tend to stay with that professional over time. That does not mean however, that I am constantly seeing those patients for treatment. They may come in initially for a lower back disk problem, and after two weeks of treatment may be released from care. Six months later they may come back in with a shoulder injury from a basketball game. In my experience, when patients get the results they are looking for in a timely manner, they will return when other problems arise.
What is the best method for healing and recovery after running a marathon?
The best way to recover from running a marathon is start early, during your training season as you're preparing your body for the long run. As you know, you put on many miles before you ever even run the race. Supporting these systems throughout your training process will ensure a speedy recovery:

First and foremost, you want to support your adrenal glands- those little glands that sit on top of your kidneys are responsible for supplying your body with all of that adrenaline as well as cortisol, two primary hormones necessary for long distance running. The adrenals are known as our 'stress glands'. Even though you may be enjoying the exercise, running long distances puts a lot of strain on your body physiologically as well as physically. Supporting the adrenals supports the body in recovering from any stressful situation. I recommend taking a combination of adaptogen herbs on a daily basis. Look for a supplement that contains some of these well-known adaptogens: Panax Ginseng, Rhodiola, Ashwaganda, American Ginseng, and Astragalus.

It is also imperative to support your physical body. Doing yoga and stretching along the way greatly decreased your risk of injury. I also highly recommend massage to relax the muscles and to move the lactic acid out (*lactic acid is what builds up with long periods of anaerobic exercise and is what causes soreness).

Homeopathy is also a very valuable tool. Taking Arnica orally before and after you run, both in training and the actual race, will greatly speed recovery time. Using topical Traumeel, a combination homeopathic, topically on those places are especially sore or strained is also very helpful.

And finally, nothing can replace good quality sleep. If you put high demands on your body, you must allow it time to rest and rejuvenate or it won't last the long haul.

Good luck, Ryan! As a former runner of 2 marathons, I wish I had know then what I know now! All the best!
How do I justify the cost?
When you look at the cost to go to a physician or to stay in a hospital for one day it becomes quickly evident. Massage is an incredible stress reducer. It is good for the body mind and soul. When you experience the relaxation and pleasure of a massage you realize that it is extremely affordable. It can save you money on doctors, prescriptions and comfort foods. When you take care of yourself you can then take care of your business better and be more productive and in turn more prosperous.
How do I explain to my husband my need for touch from a professional massage Therapist when he is willing to massage me?
I love this question. Just explain to him that the female therapist is a trained expert in her field and that you are able to relax and receive with no other agenda. Tell your husband that setting this time apart for your self is extremely rejuvenating and that you will be able to be much more present for your relationship when you practice self care with regularity. Suggest that he goes to a massage therapist as well. It will also increase both of your massaging skills, a great plus!
What is the optimum amount of massage to receive. Can I overdo it?
What a delightful dilemma. I had a friend who studied Chinese medicine in China and his teacher taught that, if you received seven Half hour massages as you went to sleep for seven consecutive days all your health issues would resolve. He actually gave this experience to his student, my friend, and David reported that his well being increased one hundred percent.

That is a very unique situation and depending on your circumstances it may be possible to create. Still I feel that it will vary for each individual. If you have the time and the resources I feel once a week is optimum and preferably at the same time. The body responds to consistency and regularity. I feel the minimum amount of body work is one hour once of month and of course that spontaneous unexpected treat will always serve you well.
Can my relationship be saved?
At its greatest success, therapy helps all your dreams come true. Therapy is never at its greatest success. Seriously, a good definition of therapy is really difficult. But my real-life experience is that if someone helps me, then it's therapeutic. If I don't have a sense of gain from a therapeutic event, then I have the wrong person. If I see a massage therapist and my body isn't soothed by the session, I won't go back. Therapy is no different.

To 'save' a relationship, both people must be committed to a win-win and be able and willing to look inside themselves for causes and struggles in a relationship. You can't take the other person's personality inventory, analyze them and then change them. You can only change yourself. So, if you want the best chance of success in a relationship, then you need to answer two important questions with great depth and breadth and insight...

1. If my relationship with my partner were to improve, my contribution would be...

2. Quirks about me that would make that difficult are...

Really, you have to dig down deep on these two questions...

Finally, don't treat your relationship like a triple-heart-bypass. Don't wait until the relationship is about to die and then ask a therapist if the relationship can be saved. Answer the 2 questions above from day-one. Don't have a heart attack and not change your diet or exercise, improve your relationship at the sign of the first struggle.
How do I know if a therapist is good?
The only way to know is to try a session or two. Choosing a therapist is like choosing shoes -- you may have to try some on to find one that fits. You have to be especially leery of less than average responses because they can harm you. If you've experienced a poor response from a friend or a therapist, then you know how harmful it can be. Your intellect can't always tell during or after an encounter if it was good or bad. But your intuition knows. You have to ask yourself if it 'felt' right to you.
Why do you specialize in communication?
In the late 60's, Truax, Carkhuff and Berenson discovered that therapeutic responses (or comments to a client) could be observed as a qualitative measure. That is, was it a level 5 response or a level 1 response? From this research, it became clear to communication specialists and therapists that what we say has a massive impact on a client, and, of course, on most relationships. In fact, they discovered that a less than average response to a client (below a level 2.5 response, for example) could actually cause harm to a client. Also of interest: Who we are at our core level of functioning results in how we respond - the healthier your being, the healthier your response. It has been my experience through the years that we can learn to control our emotional reactivity and we can modify what we say for dramatic impact on ourselves and our relationships - in particular, during conflict. This is the main reason for specializing in communication.
Do I Still Need To See The Chiropractor If My Pain Is Gone?
It is very common for pain to disappear long before the total correction of your condition is attained. Pain is often not a very good indicator of health. Often times people are completely unaware of problems that are developing in them because there is no pain associated with the condition. Heart disease, cancer, diabetes, can not have any symptoms at all until they have become very advanced. The same is true with cavities in your teeth. There is usually no pain until the cavity becomes severe. The point is that just because you are no longer experiencing pain, does not mean that your problem no longer exists. It is important to continue being treated so that the underlying cause of the pain can be corrected.

Routine chiropractic care is one of the simplest ways to maintain the health of your body. Numerous research studies have shown that people who receive regular chiropractic care suffer fewer illnesses, injuries and degenerative diseases, and they report a better overall quality of life.

The bottom line is that chiropractic care is a safe, effective treatment for a wide range of physical complaints, such as headaches, neck pain, low back pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hop, knee and ankle pain, scoliosis and a host of other problems. While most of these disorders resolve within a few weeks or months, routine chiropractic care will help ensure optimal health for life.
How Many Chiropractic Adjustments Will I Need?
The total number of adjustments you need depends on five main factors.
1) your age
2) your overall health
3) the severity of your condition
4) how long you have had your condition and
5) what your ultimate goals are

If you are young, in good health and have a mild condition that occurred recently, you will need far fewer adjustments than if you are older, in poor health and have been struggling with a problem for many years. The total number of adjustments you will need also depends on whether you are just interested in reducing the pain you are currently experiencing, or are interested in creating long-term health.
Will chiropractic adjustments hurt?
Some individuals may be sore after being adjusted, or experience temporary discomfort in the parts of the body that were treated. This, however, is the exception and most people feel better very quickly after being adjusted.
What is a chiropractic adjustment?
The chiropractic adjustment is a gentle, quick thrust to a particular joint, typically in the spine, intended to restore normal joint position and movement. Usually done by hand, it can also be done with instruments or other specialized equipment.
Can Chiropractic professionals help Asthma?
Chiropractic is helpful with asthma form 3 points of view. I believe there are 3 reasons why people end up with health problems, and I call it the Triad of Health. The first side of the triangle is structure. If there is neurological interference or damage due to past traumas or imbalances in the body, these nerves go to the organs that, in this case, effect asthma, those organs will not function correctly and the symptoms will occur. Remove the nerve interference and the organs will be able to function again.

The second side is chemical. If there are biochemical changes in the body, like hormone imbalances that can effect things like asthma, especially adrenal hormones, these must be balanced as well. Toxicity of the body must also be assessed to make sure that is not also involved.

The third side is mental/emotional. Stress that effects us emotionally must be looked at too.

To only look at the structure is limited and may not address the entire picture. Of course, the reasons for a problem are not the same with each person, and should be evaluated by a healthcare provider who sees the Triad of Health.
What is Ayurveda? What is the definition of health according to Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a 5000 yr old medical system that recognizes all life must live in harmony with nature to survive. Prevention is dictated by the unique requirements of your unique body type. What we eat, how we exercise, when we sleep and even where we live are understood according to one's body type.

In Ayurveda health is defined by a strong, healthy, vibrant body, a calm, clear mind, an open heart and a deep soul connection. This develops the body's own internal awareness of itself. With this heightened state of awareness, Ayurveda says, 'there is nothing that the body can't heal.'
